The Iron Giant With Director's Cut on Blu-ray
The Iron Giant was a box office flop but still has a huge following among fans who wait desperately for a Blu-ray release of the movie. In April, director Brad Bird confirmed to put out a simple, cheap Blu-ray but would find it desirable to release something more than just barebone and would try to succeed in the matter.
But before such a Blu-ray comes, the film finds its way into some US cinemas at the end of September / beginning of October in the context of the Signature Edition. For that, Fathom reports that the film has been remastered and enhanced by 2 completely new scenes that could add up to 10 additional minutes.
A Blu-ray in the US is thus probably just a matter of time.
