Alexander - Ultimate Cut out on US Blu-ray in June

4th Version of the Oliver Stone Epic Comes in 2014

Back in November 2012, we reported that Oliver Stone wanted to edit a 4th version of his historical film Alexander (2004) for a Blu-ray release and now the final information and release date have been communicated.

The already existing cuts of the movie predominantly differ regarding the positioning of scenes and the amount of new material:

  • Theatrical Version (175 min.)
  • Director's Cut (167 min.) (Comparison)
  • Final Cut (214 min.) (Comparison)

On June 6th, 2014, the new version called Ultimate Cut will find its way on Blu-ray due to the 10th anniversary of the film. It has a runtime of 206 minutes and is accompanied by the theatrical version (also a 1st time ever on BD). The bonus material is an art book (40 pages) and a new documentary about Alexander. You can order it at Amazon.com.
