Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Few Deleted Scenes Right on time for the theatrical start of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the persons involved are on press tour in order to promote their film. Director Francis Lawrence talked to Collider and they reliably asked about the assembly cut. Lawrence shared the info that the runtime was a little over 3 hours and that there are very few deleted scenes even though he shortened the material to 146 minutes for cinemas. The reason for that is that most of the removed scenes were simple extensions that were cut for pacing or just because the initial scene simply took too long. The real deleted scenes will find their way on the Blu-ray, though, and will be featured in the bonus section as what they are: deleted scenes. There will be no re-integration into the film in order to produce a longer version for home video because those scenes are short and not overly important for the plot of the movie. ![]()
