Evil Dead [2013] – Unrated Edition in Japan After the Evil Dead remake was publicly known as being censored for the “R” rating, it didn’t look like the uncut version would ever see the light of day. Thanks to a lucky mishap of the British TV channel “Channel 4” we know that the uncensored version does indeed exist as a ready-to-go cut. It features four additional minutes of footage (both gore and story) compared to the theatrical version (see comparison). In the US, it is only available as a digital stream but fans will soon have an opportunity to buy the Unrated Cut on physical Blu-ray. Even though they will have to look for that in Japan. There, the remake and the original movie will get a limited edition (see below) and a regular Blu-ray. The release date is July 26th, 2017.
