Rocky Handsome With Censored Version in UK Cinemas
One mostly thinks of Bollywood films as romances or dramas that feature colorfully clothed, happy people dancing around extensively. But the Western influence has reached that movie industry, as well. One of those productions is Rocky Handsome, a solid action thriller with a choreography that seems to copy John Wick at times.
His Indish counterpart John Abraham seeks revenge against the drug mafia that abducted an 8-year old girl and his hunt is not bloodless, to say the least. See for yourself in the trailer.
And apparently the violence is so massive that the BBFC only rated the movie with the "18" classification which was too high for the distributor. After cuts of roughly 5 minutes (!) the BBFC 15 rating could be achieved for the theatrical release.
Company chose to reduce a scene of strong violence in order to obtain a 15 classification. Cuts made in accordance with BBFC Guidelines and policy. An uncut 18 classification was available.
The description speaks of one scene. It'll be interesting to see what that exactly means and how the situation will look like on the UK home video release later on.
