Marvel's Ant Man - Details on Script Changes

More Action for Paul Rudd in New Marvel Movie

After Edgar Wright departed the Ant-Man project after working on it for years due to creative differences with Marvel, Peyton Reed replaced him on the director's chair. Adam McKay (director of e.g. The Other Guys) was in talks to take over but eventually only contributed to the script.

In an interview with Collider, McKay gave some info on the changes that he helped to make together with lead actor Paul Rudd. In general, they made the film somewhat more straight, aggressive and bigger. And funnier to a certain extent:

Adam McKay: "We added some new action beats.  I grew up on Marvel Comics so the geek in me was in heaven that I got to add a giant action sequence to the movie; I was so excited.  So we did, we added some cool new action."

The US/UK theatrical release date for Ant-Man is July 17th. 2015.
