Noah Banned in Muslim Countries While the Christian groups that were initially very critical towards Darren Aronofsky's upcoming bible film adaptation Noah seem to have calmed down, the islamic-dominant countries seem to be a much more difficult or even impossible situation to resolve. Islamic law forbids the depiction of prophets, thus including Noah, as well. Right now, an official ban has been declared for Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE. Paramount expects that many cinemagoers in other parts of the Middle East and North Africa won't be able to see the film either. Noah starts in US cinemas on March 28th, 2014. The UK will get it on April 4th, 2014, and will be one of the markets that gets a post-3D conversion.
