August: Osage County Keeps its New Ending In September, we could report that the film adaptation of Tracey Lett's play August: Osage County might get a slightly more positive ending than it originally has. As the director confirmed, the producers demanded this alteration. Still, the final decision wasn't made and there was still hope that they would go back to the original ending and listen to the critics who were not too fond of the new ending. But as it turns out, that hope was for nothing. The newest version of the film was recently shown to press and still has the positive ending and doesn't stop where the play finishes. The producers bowed down to the unsatisfied test audience that obviously didn't have too many fans of plays present. August: Osage County gets a limited theatrical release in the US and is scheduled for December 25th, 2013.
