PG-13 Movie Would Have Been Rated BBFC 18

After Red Sparrow and the Death Wish remake, the next movie that will be cut in UK theaters is the fantasy romance Every Day. The reason is pretty simple: The studio insisted on the lower and more lucrative BBFC 12A rating. In order to do so, 4 seconds of footage that shows suicide techniques were cut. Without said cut, the movie would have been rated BBFC 18 instead.

This work was cut. The cuts were made at the request of the distributor to achieve a particular category. To obtain this category cuts of 0m 4s were required. Details of cuts below may contain spoilers or plot details.

Company chose to remove images of suicide techniques in order to obtain a 12A rating. Cuts made in accordance with BBFC Guidelines and policy. An uncut 18 classification was available.

In the US, the movie was rated PG-13 (for thematic content, language, teen drinking, and suggestive material).

The movie will premier in UK theaters on 04/20/2018.
