Penitentiary on Blu-ray in the US

4K Scan by Vinegar Syndrome

On 01/30/2018, Vinegar Syndrome will release the first Blu-ray of Penitentiary (1979) in the US. In order to so, the original 35mm negative was scanned in 4K. The extras are as follows:

  • Archival commentary track with Jamaa Fanaka (writer / producer / director)
  • Audio Commentary track with Sergio Mims (second assistant director)
  • "Too Sweet for Penitentiary" - interview with Leon Isaac Kennedy (lead actor)
  • "Filming Penitentiary" - interview with Marty Ollstein (cinematographer)
  • "Producing Penitentiary" - interview with Alicia Dhanifu (producer)
  • Original theatrical trailer
