Southern Fury Censored in the UK In the last few years, Nicolas Cage starred in numerous rather mediocre movies. At least, some of them contain some nice action scenes with the appropiate level of violence. The actioner Southern Fury is one of those with a rather high level of violence. For that reason, it was rated R in the US (for brutal bloody violence, language throughout, and drug use). In the UK, the uncensored version was rated BBFC 18. The reason:: strong bloody violence. In April 2017, the UK DVD of Southern Fury was released. Now, the BBFC has also rated a censored version that is approx. 2 minutes shorter and rated BBFC 15 (strong violence, language, sex, drug misuse). When and how this censored version will be released is still unknown.
