Daddy's Home - Small Changes for PG-13 Rating You might remember the Ferrell/Wahlberg combo from the comedy The Other Guys. That was a film that was toned down quite heavily for the PG-13 rating and showed in its Unrated Cut what it was really intending. Many of the jokes and sexual dialogues were clearly rooted in "R" territory (see comparison). With their next joint venture Daddy's Home it was interesting to see how far they were allowed to take it there. But once the PG-13 rating became known, it became obvious that the humor wouldn't go too far. In an interview with Collider, the filmmakers shared that they tipped their toes into "R" territory at some points during filming. However, they were told what had to be adjusted so that everything would be okay for PG-13. Still, the MPAA had one scene where they weren't too happy about a somewhat sexual dialogue scene and the way it was delivered so they had to change it in order to keep the desired rating. But don't get your hopes up that the home video release would contain anything that's revealing more. As the makers state in the interview, it's quite unlikely that this will happen. ![]()
