Devil May Cry Censored in Definitive Edition The term "Definitive Edition" seems to become a household name for HD re-releases because not only did the Definitve Edition of Devil May Cry get a graphics update but also all extension packs. However, the content has been altered a little, as well. A dialogue between Mundus and Lilith is now more harmless because a sexual innuendo was removed from it. The original dialogue verbatim:
In the Definitive Edition, the dialogue ends after "bitch". Developer Ninja Theory confirmed the cut but insisted that it doesn't have a censorship background but is intended to improve and speed up the scene. Furthermore, chief creative director Tameem Antoniades said his team didn't like that the scene from the start and producing the new release has offered up the possibility to improve certain aspects of the game. Among others, there's now a completely new mid-sequence that didn't make it into the initial version due to time contraints. It's up to the individual view if that should be seen as censorship or improvement, but it doesn't really make the game itself any worse. ![]()
