Wild Card Gets Extended Version for Home Video Wild Card is the remake of the 1986 film Heat starring Burt Reynolds. It has Jason Statham in the lead role and is directed by Simon West. According to reviews, the film is no all-out action movie but also devotes time to the character's gambling problems. And it looks like that - at least in the US - customers will get a sizeable extended edition of the film compared to its limited theatrical release. Via their VoD services, iTunes and Amazon.com offer a cut of the movie that - based on the runtime comparison - runs 13 minutes longer. The DVD and Blu-ray are announced for release but don't have an exact date right now. It could be that the final plans regarding these releases aren't yet figured out so there's still hope that the Blu-ray will contain that prolonged version, as well. ![]()
