Aloft - Less Sexuality After New MPAA Submission? Aloft tells the story of a mother who meets her son she abandoned 20 years ago. Doesn't seem like a date movie but the cast might be worth a look as it stars Jennifer Connelly, Cillian Murphy und Mélanie Laurent. Initially completed in 2013, there were talks that the first version of the film wasn't received all too well, resulting in the production of a new cut that found its way into international territories. But the situation isn't very transparent at this point and the fact that the film was submitted to the MPAA for a second rating doesn't really help, either. Back in September 2014, it was rated "R" (for sexuality and language) but the MPAA bulletin for early March 2015 lists the film again with an "R" but the sexuality part (3 sex scenes are said to be included in the film) might have changed since the rating reason is now "for language and some sexuality". To date, the biggest theatrical release has happened in Spain. The MPAA rating suggests that the US could expect a release in the near future, as well. Maybe the situation surrounding the different versions can be solved when the press tour starts and the makers can shed some light on the production in interviews. Let's see what happens. ![]()
