Ali - Michael Mann Has Another Version Ready Michael Mann is notorious for producing multiple versions of several of his films. Extensions, removals, small adjustments, the variety in Mann's editing desires is huge (see the discrepancy in our comparisons for The Last Mohican or Heat) His biopic Ali starring Will Smith already has a Director's Cut next to the theatrical version that runs almost 15 minutes longer than in cinemas. But it seems that his perfectionism got the better of him again as he reveals in an interview with Collider where he talks about a 3rd version that he did:
Ali didn't yet get a Blu-ray release with the Director's Cut so it might be quite possible that the film then has this new, third version on board like it was the case with The Last Mohican. Time will tell. ![]()
