Wild Orchid with Blu-ray Premiere in the US During the late 80's and before too many cosmetic surgery messed up Mickey Rourke's face, the actor was a real superstar and the bad boy many women dreamed of. That status can be partly credited to his erotic films 9 1/2 Weeks and Wild Orchid. Especially the latter had the rumor mill heat up because it was said that the film features real sex between Rourke and Carré Otis. Of course, it is still filmed in a way that is not pornographic and the stars deny that it went down that way. At least it didn't hurt the publicity for the movie. While such scenes aren't that problematic in most European countries, the US got a heavily edited R-Rated version that especially butchered the last sweaty sex scene. Details on that are offered in our comparison. The Unrated Version also added some more plot scenes. On February 24th, 2015, Olive Film releases the film in the US with its first-ever Blu-ray. According to the runtime and the displayed rating info, it appears that only the more harmless rated version of the film will be included. That's unfortunate, especially when one considers that the Unrated Cut is available on DVD by MGM already.
