The Interview Gets Pulled from Release Schedule The whole situation surrounding the satirical comedy The Interview has now come to a screeching yet controversial halt. After it prompted a serious and devastating cyber attack by hackers that are most likely linked to the North Korean government and was followed by threats by the group that acts of terror could take place in cinemas that show the film, Sony cancelled the theatrical release of the movie that was initially scheduled for December 25th, 2014. Beforehand, several theater chains opted out of showing the movie due to the terror threats.
The satire tells the story of two American journalists who inititally want to conduct an interview with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un but are then ordered by the CIA to kill him. Later on, Sony has confirmed that they completely shelve the movie and will not show it in cinemas or put it out on Blu-ray/DVD, not only in the US but worldwide. ![]()
