Wrong Turn 6 - Unrated Release Ahead

Common Release Strategy for Slasher Franchise

Who would have thought back in the year 2003 that a small backwood slasher called Wrong Turn would be the start of a new horror franchise? Maybe not even the producers themselves. This year, the 6th film of the series will hit DVD and Blu-ray.

This time, Declan O'Brien, the director of the last 3 films stepped down and was replaced by Valeri Milev. But that change doesn't seem to have that much impact on the gore shown on screen. As the first teaser poster at this year's Comic Con promises, an Unrated version is underway and will be released on Halloween. The last few films also got an MPAA-approved cut version for some VOD and video rental services. We'll see if that comes true for this sequel, as well.
