Brick Mansions Gets Extended Cut on DVD/Blu-ray Brick Mansions is the US remake of the French action movie Banlieue 13 (also known as District 13). Apart from the usage of other actors - except for David Belle, who stayed on - the level of violence was severely reduced since the film had to be suitable for a PG-13 rating. The original was much more brutal and bloody. Now, the online database of the German ratings board FSK lists an entry for a version that is labeled "uncut". In comparison to the theatrical rating "FSK 12", the longer version is rated "FSK 16". This Extended Cut will probably not add 9 minutes of violent content alone but the elevated rating suggests that it could deliver some more than what was in store for cinemas. As of right now, no announcement anywhere suggested that such a version was coming but the evidence is clear. In some markets, the Blu-ray will be out in August 2014, so there's still some time for the distributors to get the word out.
