Ms. 45 - Uncut Release in the US Ahead With his thriller Ms. 45, director Abel Ferrara created a classic for the rape'n'revenge genre. The MPAA rated it "X" and that led to the consequence that the film was censored for an "R" rating on DVD and VHS. The unrated version of the movie was later released on DVD in France. Fortunately, that situation is about to change. Drafthouse Films has recently secured the full rights for the US market and has now announced its plans. The distributor wants to show Ms. 45 in selected cinemas starting December 13th, 2013. Of course, the uncensored version will be used for those screenings and subsequent releases on home video formats such as DVD, Blu-ray and VOD will follow in 2014. This will mark the first time that North America gets an uncut release of the film for home video.
