Sleepaway Camp With Uncensored Blu-ray in the US

Shout Announces Slasher in HD

Sleepaway Camp is a slasher that was produced in the wake of the success of Friday the 13th and is one of those clones that were popular enough to spark a series of (currently) 5 films. It is also known for its problems with censorship. While it has never been uncut in the UK (see comparison), the US got its fair share of censored releases, too (see comparison), with the exception of two VHS editions.

Now, Scream! Factory plans on solving that problematic situation by releasing the uncensored film on US Blu-ray in early 2014. It marks the slasher's first HD release worldwide. The Collector's Edition will have much interesting bonus material. A box set with the sequels is currently not in the works.

Release: Nov 17, 2013 - Author: Bob - Translator: Mike Lowrey
