Texas Chainsaw 3D: Unrated Version on French BD? When Texas Chainsaw 3D entered cinemas, it was already publicly known that the US version had to be censored for the "R" rating. But fans were still optimistic because there would surely come an Unrated Version out on Blu-ray and maybe even DVD, even though recently several longer versions of movies stayed exclusively on Blu-ray in order to convince the last DVD-only film fans to switch the formats. But then came the shock. Apparently, the studio wanted to drive people away from the Blu-ray and lure them to video-on-demand services. The Unrated Version was released exclusively on US streaming platforms such as iTunes. You can find the comparison between the R-Rated and Unrated here. But now, France could be a promising way out since a Version Integrale was announced on Blu-ray and it looks like it will be the first uncensored release on a physical medium worldwide. It will be a Blu-ray 3D/DVD combo set. We'll see if it really carries the Unrated but as of now we are pretty optimistic and await December 4th, 2013, when the BD hits the French shelves.
