Nymphomaniac - Softcore Version Released First
Recently, we asked ourselves whether Lars von Trier's upcoming scandal film Nymphomaniac, which exists as both a softcore and hardcore version, would be released in some European countries in the HC form. But such considerations are no longer needed.
News broke that not even the filmmaker's home country Denmark will get it for the theatrical release on Christmas, nor will any other countries. Instead, Cannes 2014 is supposed to be the place and time when the HC version will see the light of day. However, it's still a justified question whether the 5-hour sex epos (split in two parts) will actually be shown at the festival because as of right now, von Trier has not reconciled with the Cannes organisers, who declared him as persona non grata for his behavior in the past.
If you want to know what's really up with these hardcore scenes, look at an earlier news of ours where we covered that part.
