Spider-Man 2: Only Theatrical Cut on 4K Blu-ray

New Release Doesn't Feature the Extended Version

The second batch of Sony Pictures' "Mastered in 4K" series contains the already released Angels and Demons. Unfortunately, only the theatrical version of the adaptation is included on the HD medium and Spider-Man 2 will continue this trend. Even though an extended version has been out on DVD for several years (see comparison), the Blu-ray 4K does not have it on board.

The distributor argues that the omission of this and other bonus features is that as much space as possible should be held free for the picture quality on the Blu-ray.

The "Mastered in 4K" Blu-ray gets released in the US on July 16th, 2013. You can order it at Amazon.com.
