Fast & Furious 6 - Extended Version on Blu-ray?
After the gigantic success of Fast Five, the decision to produce a 6th installment of the franchise was easy to make. With a worldwide box office of $682 million, it became a hit just as its predecessor. An important factor in that equation is that the mix of action and violence doesn't go beyond the boundaries of the American PG-13 rating. At least not in cinemas. Still, Fast Five made something different. It was obviously censored for the PG-13 and got an Extended Edition on DVD/BD later on which removed the alterations (see our comparison).
It looks like this practice will be applied to Fast & Furious 6, as well. The artwor of the upcoming British Blu-ray shows the remark "Extended Action Packed Edition", which is exclusively available on BD. Further details about this release are inconclusive whether that really means that an extended film version will be included (after all, it could also mean that they just want to mention a big bonus section), but we can probably be optimistic that it's a longer cut. We'll report more as this story develops.
