The Dark Knight Rises - No Director's Cut Coming Well, that's no surprise after all. Christopher Nolan is neither known for not putting many deleted scenes on the home video releases of his films, nor for producing Extended or Director's Cuts afterwards. This makes the news from NuketheFridge all the more surprising. They had a source that claimed that a Director's Cut of The Dark Knight Rises was in the works, extending the film with 30 minutes of footage that was supposed to implement Batman's nemesis Bane better into the story. A few days later, they added that this new cut was scheduled for a release close to the theatrical start of the new Superman movie Man of Steel. To take this with a big grain of salt does seem to have been the right tactic since The Playlist confirms that the whole thing is a short-lived hoax. They contacted Nolan's reps and were told that there is no DC in the works and that there are no plans of producing it.
