Halloween (1978): First 4K Blu-ray in the US There really is no need for an introduction of horror classic John Carpenter's Halloween starring Jamie Lee "Scream Queen" Curtis. It is simply a must see for every genre fan. Regarding the releases, there are numerous - on both DVD and Blu-ray. The master of the US 35th Anniversary Blu-ray has been the best choice so far (screenshot comparison). The US Complete Collection, sold out by now, contains the very same disc and there is a bonus disc with the reconstructed TV Version as well (comparison). On 09/25/2018, Lionsgate will release the very first 4K Blu-ray of John Carpenter's Halloween in the US. Details have not been released yet but according to the BBFC entry (click), the 4K release will contain the extras from the 35th Anniversary Blu-ray. Whether or not there will be a UK UHD release as well is still undetermined resp. it has not been announced so far and there is no shop that lists the upcoming release either. What has been announced though is a regular Blu-ray release by Lionsgate - release will be on 09/24/2018. However, the ad on page 20 of the Frightfest guide implies that there will be a UHD release in the UK as well - on 10/01/2018. Buy this title on Amazon
