The Lost City of Z – Censored for PG-13 Rating Back in November 2016, the adventure epos The Lost City of Z was submitted to the MPAA. The film adaptation of the best-selling book stars Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson and is typical material for a PG-13 release. At least that’s what the distributor hoped to achieve but instead the ratings board issued its “R” rating for brief violence. In order to get the desired PG-13 rating, the studio resubmitted the movie in a censored version that is now less graphic in the violent scenes that earned the film its previous classification. The new rating now reads:
The Lost City of Z has not yet a release date for US cinemas but will start in the UK and Germany in March 2017. ![]()
