Suicide Squad Gets Massive Reshoots

DC Comic Movie Supposed to Get Funnier

It looks like the site BirthMoviesDeath.com has landed a mega scoop with its news about the upcoming DC superhero movie Suicide Squad starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie and others. It's the only source which is why all the other sites reporting about it grab it from there, including us.

What does BMD know about the film? Allegedly, the trailer with the Queen soundtrack already features all the funny scenes the entire film has to offer. And since the trailer resonated well with the fanbase, Warner Bros. now wants more of those light-hearted scenes that were dearly missed by many viewers in the recent Batman v Superman. Other sources told BMD that massive resources are put up for that mission with costs in the multiple tens of milions of Dollars. That would be rather extreme measures so few months before the theatrical release.

In that regard it's interesting that, in contrast to BvS, many fans were ready to take on a darker approach to Suicide Squad, a movie that deals with anti-heroes, which is what the first Comic Con trailer promised. Even an "R" rating was wished for for a while, before and after Deadpool's huge success at the box office. But the producers confirmed that the PG-13 will stand - and apparently with even more humor than originally planned.

In case the reshoots are actually a real thing, WB and DC will have to expect more negative press in the coming months since now everyone with a Twitter account can speculate and vent about whether the makers have lost control about the new DC extended universe.
