X-Force - Chances for an R-Rated Adaptation? Who would have thought? Deadpool gained $135 million at the US box office alone in the course of just 4 days and is shattering records all around. Astonishing numbers for the X-Men franchise, especially since this has been accomplished with the "R" rating. That raises fan hopes that maybe other films could get a similar treatment that brings them closer to their oftentimes more violence comic origins. Sure, Deadpool 2 is a safe bet for that continuation, but what about other stuff? X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit will surely be PG-13. What's possible apart from that? A likely candidate for an R-rated adaptation would be the planned X-Force film that will feature Deadpool and Cable, among others. During a Q&A, producer Simon Kinberg debated that possibility:
Rob Liebfeld tried to deflate that aspect somewhat but adds at the same time that he could imagine an R-rated X-Men universe.
