Star Wars - Episode 7 Gets a PG-13 Rating December 17th, 2015 is a date that most Star Wars films will have marked in their calendars. On this day, the biggest science fiction saga of cinema history is revived with Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens. The hype is huge and there's almost no avoiding it. Some of the few people who already got to see it where the board members of the MPAA. In their current ratings bulletin, they announced the classification they gave the film: PG-13.
It's not that big a surprise but it's still an interesting footnote if you consider the whole saga. Episode 7 is only the second film of the whole franchise that received this rating and follows Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith, which - as of right now - is the darkest and most violent entry of the series. All other installments have the PG rating. ![]()
