Avengers: Age of Ultron - Extended Cut Still On? Shortly after The Avengers: Age of Ultron started in cinemas, we reported that Amazon.co.uk spoke of an Extended Cut for the film. Later on, director Joss Whedon said in an interview that there's most likely no interest for a Director's cut and that something like that wouldn't be in the works (see here). Enough reason to look at the Amazon thing as something premature and false. Now, however, Amazon.com also talks about an Extended Cut for the film - in a special release:
This info is missing on the normal Collector's Edition (also containing Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D). Of course, an Extended Cut isn automatically a Director's Cut so maybe Whedon's statement is correct insofar that he may not be involved in the making of this version. They certainly have enough deleted scenes that could be put back in. But why there's no word on the matter in the exclusive Blu-ray trailer is also puzzling. For us, the Extended Cut case is open again as of yet. In autumn, all will be cleared up. The US Blu-ray is scheduled for October 2nd, 2015. In Germany, it's a bit earlier with September 24th, 2015. You can order it at Amazon.com or at Amazon.co.uk.
