Deadpool - Director Hints at Deleted Scenes
Some Green Lantern Jokes Won't Make the Cut
The upcoming Deadpool film with Ryan Reynolds doesn't shy away from making fun of other movies. Apart from the in-house colleague X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the DC film Green Lantern is a victim of the funny remarks. In the latter, Reynolds was also the main star. Some of the gags were already included in the trailer but it seems that the film has a lot more of them.
Director Tim Miller now she some more light on the background story of that and that not all of it will end up in the final film:
We shot a few more Green Lantern jokes, but I’m not sure how many will survive the cut. Ryan definitely had some Green Lantern issues to work out. We had about a minute’s worth of dialogue between him and Colossus where he talks about it, like, ‘So a guy comes with a thousand-dollar suit and says, “We want you to play a superhero,” but there’s no script yet and the release date is completely unmakeable…’ He goes on this whole anti-Green Lantern run, but I’m not sure it’ll stay in, because probably not even half the people in the theatres will get those jokes…that scene’s one for the DVD extras, for sure.
The Deadpool movie is expected to start in US cinemas on February 12th, 2016.
