Goosebumps - The Movie With Pre-Cuts in the US Well, in the 80's, where even the gory mirror scene in Poltergeist got away with a PG rating, a scary poodle wouldn't have been an issue. But kids these days can't seem to handle that much scariness any more so that the upcoming Goosebumps movie was censored in post-production. Producer Neal Moritz shared that info in an interview with Collider.
It can be expected that this censorship will not be reversed for international versions of the film and who knows whether other territories may want to adjust the movie even further? Could there be an uncensored home video release later on? Questions that only time and patience can clear up. Until then, the Goosebumps movie will start in theaters first. The US get it in October 2015.
