Fifty Shades of Grey Gets an Unrated Cut During filming there were some discussions about the likely rating for the film adaptation of the bestselling book Fifty Shades of Grey. Eventually, the expectable "R" rating was the result and a shortly teased NC-17 version was quickly scrapped. The box office didn't suffer from any of it and the film now has hauled in almost $560 million in cinemas worldwide. But there were still hopes that a longer version might end up on Blu-ray and they were now fulfilled with the announcement by Universal Pictures. While the DVD will only contain the theatrical version, the Blu-ray will also include the Unrated Cut that is said to be 3 minutes longer. Apart from that, the Blu-ray will contain 2 hours of bonus features and an alternate ending. The release date in the US is set for May 8th, 2015. ![]()
