T.S. Spivet - Weinstein Wanted to Recut the Film
While the Franco-Canadian production The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet by director Jean-Pierre Jeunet was released in the UK with a censorship incident, the US still awaits its release. And the reason for that seems to be Harvey Weinstein who currently holds the rights for the US territory.
In the meantime, The Weinstein Company reacted to Jeunet's comment and confirmed that the film will be released in theaters without any cuts in early 2015 and their statement sheds some light on the issues that the distributor might have had regarding the film's content:
That's understandable, considering that many talk shows deemed it a big scandal that 50 Shades of Grey was suitable for French viewers at the age of 12.
