Fifty Shades of Grey has its R-Rating It was made clear early on that the film adaptation of the first part of the best-selling book series Fifty Shades of Grey would not be rated PG-13 when it hits theaters. Instead, the S/M story was announced to be rated R in order to stay true to the literary vision. Rumors that even an NC-17 cut would be possible didn't get any substance, even though an even more explicit adaptation surely would have found its audience. The newest MPAA newsletter lists the film's final rating and says:
Looks like sex and naked skin are a given. And even "unusual behavior", well, better get your seatbelts on then. Fifty Shades of Grey starts in US and UK cinemas on February 13th, 2015. ![]()
