The Expendables 3 - Director's Cut Announced Sylvester Stallone and his crew are still fighting in cinemas in some markets with their Expendables 3. But the fact that it is only a watered down PG-13 version hasn't helped the movie to create a huge box office revenue, at least not in the US where it didn't even make the half of what the first movie could haul in. But hopes were raised back in August when we could report that Stallone teased a harder version for the home video release. And it looks like Stallone's promise can be taken for granted. While details on the US home video release are still unknown, Germany is a step ahead. The distributor Splendid Film will release two versions of the movie on the German market. Next to the theatrical version (which got the "FSK 16" rating), they also announced several editions with the wording "Extended Director's Cut". While that version hasn't been submitted to the ratings board yet, the distributor is confident that the longer version will score the "FSK 18" classification. The runtime difference can be expected to be in the 5 minute area. The release in Germany is scheduled for December 22nd, 2014, although the chances for UK or US releases with the harder version shouldn't stand too bad considering the worldwide outcry the whole affair created.
