Riddick - Unrated Director's Cut in January 2014 Director David Twohy made it clear early on that he'd be involved in the production of an Unrated Director's Cut of Riddick and shared some details about the content. Now, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment made it official, as well, and announced that the longer version of the sequel will be released in the US on January 14th, 2014. Only the Blu-ray will contain the Unrated, which offers 8 more minutes of footage. The UK are lucky, as well. The BBFC issued the same BBFC 15 classification that the theatrical version received and the UK Blu-ray now has an updated artwork with the "Extended Cut" remark, as well.
