The Canyons Gets an Unrated Director's Cut on BD The names of the people behind the camera would make for somewhat high expectations. Director Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver) and author Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho) have a certain reputation and should raise the interest level of film buffs. The crass discrepancy is reached when looking at the acting cast. Scandal-proven Lindsay Lohan and porn actor James Deen can be seen in the main roles and give The Canyons an immediate taste of trash and filth. The trailers advertising the film didn't help to hold expectations high, either. While it was released in US cinemas with an "R" rating, the upcoming Blu-ray release will have an Unrated Director's Cut on board (the DVD will only be the theatrical version). Considering that the film is heavy on nudity, it's probably not too far-fetched to expect that the Unrated delivers even more of that. A comparison will clear that up when the time comes. The Canyons has its home video release in the US on November 26th, 2013. You can order it at Amazon.com.
