V/H/S 2 With Two Versions in the US

R-Rated and Unrated Cut on Board

The episodical horror film V/H/S was produced on a shoestring budget and embedded 5 short stories shot in hand camera style in an insignificant frame story. Style and content couldn't be more different between the stories and that inevitably led to a so-so overall judgement by most critics who identified good and bad episodes. Still, the basic concept was so interesting that its success justified the production of a sequel.

This is consequently titled V/H/S 2 and has 4 episodes on board. According to reviews, it is a vast improvement compared to the first one. The entries are delivered by Gareth Evans (The Raid), Eduardo Sanchez (Blair Witch Project) and other directors who have uncompromising works in their curriculum vitae.

Now, the home video release isn't too far away and we should take a look at the editions. After the film had a limited release in a few cinemas where it was distributed as an unrated version, the DVDs and Blu-rays will of course features this cut alongside a censored MPAA version that got the "R" rating. All in all, there will be 4 different editions of V/H/S 2 one can choose from. Apart from the DVD and Blu-ray, there will also be a VHS cassette and a combo pack that offers all three media.

The release date in the US is September 24th, 2013, You can order it at Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk.
