WarGames Gets a Higher Rating in the UK While the BBFC gets more cooperative with films that required cuts for a rating in the past and now get the courtesy of an examination according to today's viewing standards which often leads to waived cuts. Still, that's not the only direction those decisions go. The opposite can happen, as well, when ratings are elevated because drug usage and frivolities were accepted easier than they are today. WarGames was made in 1983 and is still one of the best hacker films despite its display of technical standards that don't quite fit into today's situation. In the past, it was rated "PG" but now got the higher "12" classification (contains moderate language and soft drug references) while still being uncensored. It remains to be seen as how tragic this circumstance is perceived by the youth.
