The Killing of a Chinese Bookie Gets BD Release John Cassavetes' film The Killing of a Chinese Bookie was made in 1979 and was shortened drastically after its first screening by the director. Among other alterations, the movie got a different opening. This re-cut is more than 20 minutes shorter than the original version and the Blu-ray/DVD combo that comes out in the UK in July will have both versions on board. While the release by distributor BFI will have the re-cut on Blu-ray, the original version of the film will be included on the DVD. Since the latter has many critics, it might be interesting for customers to be able to choose between both versions of the film. It will be for sale in the UK starting July 15th, 2013.
You can order the Blu-ray here.
