Apple Comments on Censorship of Serious Games Recently, Apple was criticised for removing games from the AppStore that have a controversial but serious approach to some topics. For example, a game dealing with WWII was banned because it used the Japanese flags that were the original ones back then. Another game dealing with Syria was banned from the AppStore because it contained a political topic. A little reminder here: those apps are completely removed from the store and not just a regional censorship issue. Now, the website VentureBeat has made public a part of the guidelines for app-developers that deals with contents that are prohibited.
A bitter pill considering the fight that revolves around video games being accepted artistically for years. One of the big players on the mobile game market now puts the brakes on that.
