The Knot - Also Censored on DVD/Blu-ray in the UK A couple wants to marry and everything is perfect, except for the fact that all the family members and friends try to stop the marriage. How stressful! Who'd want that. The Brits, obviously. Here, the UK-produced comedy The Knot featuring Mena Suvari (American Beauty) even came into theaters. When it was submitted to the BBFC, it was classified BBFC 18 for it seems to be too raunchy at times. The producers didn't like that and wanted to attract a bigger audience. Therefore, they cut the film down to a BBFC 15. The BBFC states:
Unfortunately, the upcoming British DVD and Blu-ray will not feature more stripper action since the releases will only contain the censored theatrical version of the movie. Interested customers will have to wait if a foreign country releases the comedy in its original form. Until then, they can only grab the cut version, which will be in UK retail on February 4th, 2013.
