Hobbs & Shaw: Extended Cut Already Announced Hobbs & Shaw is the first spin-off from the incredibly successful Fast & Furious franchise. It stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Statham as the leads and Vanessa Kirby and Idris Elba in supporting roles. In an interview with German outlet Filmstarts, director David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2) talked about his movie and also confirmed that an Extended Cut can be expected for the home video release of Hobbs & Shaw.
Even though the movie deviates from the Fast & Furious franchise with its own story, it seems to stick to the series' tradition of putting out extended versions of its movies on home video. Since Fast Five, every installment got a longer version after its theatrical run (you can find our comparisons here). It'll be interesting to see whether the Extended Cut of Hobbs & Shaw will "only" include additional material that had to be cut due to time constraints or also due to censorship for the PG-13 rating. We'll find in a few months after the movie has already hauled in many millions at the box office, starting in US and UK cinemas on August 2nd, 2019.
