A Star is Born Gets an Extended Cut
A Star is Born stars Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (American Sniper), the latter also made his directorial debut with this music drama and wrote the script together with Eric Roth (Forrest Gump). The movie collected more than $425 million (on a budget of just $36 million) at the worldwide box office. On Friday, March 1st, 2019, Warner released the Oscar winner in a longer version for a week in over a thousand US cinemas, offering about 12 minutes of new material, according to IndieWire.
This extended cut will include extended scenes that were previously shortened for the cinema version, but also new footage such as Cooper recording a song at the recording studio or Lady Gaga singing an a cappella version of Is That Alright for Bradley at the wedding. A performance of the song Clover, which was neither in the movie nor on the soundtrack, was also added. Everything else will be shown in our comparison in the near future, because it is very likely that the version will make it to Blu-ray in the US at some point. So far, only the theatrical version has been released.
