Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse - Extended Cut Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has already raised approximately 360 million US dollars worldwide (budget: 90 million). On February 24th, 2019, it even won the Oscar for best animated film and Rodney Rothman (22 Jump Street), one of the directors and screenwriters, announced in an interview that there will be an extended cut:
Bob Persichetti, who also directed, also stressed that the theatrical version was the better version in his opinion, because otherwise the Extended Cut would have been shown in cinemas. But some special scenes could be built into the Alt-Universe Cut. They also stated that at one point the extended version was even more based on the comic.
According to Screen Rant, the new version is supposed to have 30 minutes of new material. We'll see about that later on. The Alt-Universe Cut will be available for home cinema in the US from March 19, 2019, in addition to its release as video-on-demand. Buy this title on Amazon ![]()
