Superman (1978) Extended Cut About to Be Released

3-Hour TV Version on Blu-ray in the US

Richard Donner's Superman (1978) starring Christopher Reeve, Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman has been available on DVD for a long time. In 2001, a Director's Cut with approx. 8 additional was released on Blu-ray.

Back in 1981, a so-called Extended Cut for TV broadcasts was edited. With a length of 188 minutes, it is 45 minutes longer than the Theatrical Version. Some of that footage has also been used for the previously mentioned Director's Cut.

Warner Home Video have now announced a new Blu-ray for the US. In addition to the Director's Cut, this will also be the first home theater release of the Extended Cut worldwide. According to the studio, it will have been restored in HD as well. Release date is 10/03/2017.

Release: Sep 21, 2017 - Author: The Undertaker - Translator: Tony Montana
